o! He cometh! countless trumpets
Blow to raise the sleeping dead;
'Midst ten thousand saints and angels
See their great exalted Head.
Hallelujah!
Let the welcome summons spread!
Now redemption, long expected,
See in solemn pomp appear!
All His saints, tho' men despis'd them,
Now shall meet Him in the air!
Hallelujah!
See the day of God appear!
Now console our waiting spirit,
Hasten, LORD, the general doom!
And to dwell in heavenly mansions
Take Thy longing exiles home;
All creation
Travails, groans, and bids Thee come.
