An Introduction from Judith Bronte

"I have been amazed to discover how many people believe that John Bunyan only wrote one book, that being 'The Pilgrim's Progress'. It is true that 'The Pilgrim's Progress' has been the most published book in the world, second only to the Bible, however, John Bunyan wrote much more. He had over sixty published works, much of which has been sadly forgotten or passed over.

This web site features approximately forty of John Bunyan's writings. Among them are 'Grace Abounding', 'The Holy War', 'The Life and Death of Mr. Badman', and of course, 'The Pilgrim's Progress', which features some old illustrations from the allegory. But, also be sure to check out Bunyan's lesser known works, such as, 'Christ a Complete Saviour', 'Ebal and Gerizzim', 'The Holy City', 'One Thing is Needful', which is a book of poetry, 'Saved By Grace', 'The Heavenly Footman', 'Seasonable Counsel', 'A Discourse of the House of the Forest of Lebanon', and many others.

This web site is not an intellectual exploration of John Bunyan's life. My endeavor is to present him as he did himself... in his own words. Please feel free to take what you want from this web site. Republish it on the Internet, print out your favorites and pass them to friends, shout it from the rooftops, because John Bunyan's message holds as true as the day he wrote it.

'God has set a Savior against sin,
a heaven against a hell,
light against darkness,
good against evil,
and the breadth and length and depth and height of grace that is in Himself for my good,
against all the power and strength and subtlety of every enemy.'
"

My Portrait of John Bunyan

"Upon first entering this web site, you see my picture of John Bunyan. I created it from an old gray picture of the original painting, and overlaid it using the colors from a color painting that was copied from the original portrait. An artist touched up the finished product. In short, an old gray picture and a new color picture were combined to create what you see now. This faithful reproduction brings together the two qualities I'm most fond of from the original painting - warm colors on a friendly face.

Here is the whole portrait. Feel free to take it and use it however you wish, (his signature [displayed above] is also yours, if you want it). Please, do not link this picture off of this web site. Download it onto your hard drive."

~ A Pilgrim's Journey ~

10 new songs written by

based on the re-telling of
Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan
Endorsement from Acacia John Bunyan: This CD is so nicely done! The music and the presentation are not only Scripturally edifying, which is all important, but the lyrics and music style are tender and beautiful. As a true pilgrim demonstrates in a life fully surrendered, Jim Winder's message and music has "followed HIM, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God." (Luke 18:43) This CD is a credit to John Bunyan's love of the Lord Jesus, to "Come, take up the cross, and follow ME." (Mark 10:21)

If you like Pilgrim's Progress, then I'm sure you'll enjoy The Hard But Right Way ---New Window!
