Abiding in the LORD - promises |
Katie Stewart |
6-28-98 |
John 15:4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me." |
|
Absent from the Body - sermon |
Jonathan Edwards |
(1703-1758) |
THE apostle in this place is giving a reason why he went on with so much boldness and immovable steadfastness, through such labors, sufferings, and dangers of his life, in the service of his Lord; for which his enemies, the false teachers among the Corinthians, sometimes reproached him as being beside himself, and driven on by a kind of madness. |

quotes from:
"Absolute
Surrender" |
Andrew Murray |
(1828-1917) |
"And why have you not experienced it? Because you have not trusted God for it... believe that God will maintain it... that aged saint who, on his ninetieth birthday... --I mean George Muller. What did he say he believed to be the secret of his happiness, and of all the blessing which God had given him?... two reason. The one was that he had been enabled by grace to maintain a good conscience before God day by day; the other was, that he was a lover of God's Word... Such a life has two sides-- on the one side, absolute surrender to work what God wants you to do; on the other side, to let God work what He wants to do." page 13 |

According to Your
Faith |
Tom Stewart |
11-18-99 |
Like a Divine Cycle, faith in the Promises teach us to trust in God, because "all the Promises of God in [Christ Jesus] are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us" (2Corinthians 1:20). Building Christian Confidence is not a humanistic confidence in self, but it is the confidence that God, "that cannot lie" (Titus 1:2), will do as He said. "God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19). The Apostle John wrote in his First Epistle that his purpose in writing, like a Divine Cycle, was to those who had already believed on the LORD Jesus, that they may further understand Him, that they would be encouraged to further trust Him. "These things have I written unto you that believe on the Name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have Eternal Life, and that ye may believe on the Name of the Son of God" (1John 5:13)... Faith is inescapably tied to the Promises. "That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the Promises" (Hebrews 6:12). The LORD will take us at whatever level of Spiritual development that we possess, and He will give further revelations of Himself, His Word, and His character. "He that hath My Commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love Him, and will manifest Myself to Him" (John 14:21). |

Adoption in the Beloved -study |
Katie Stewart |
2-12-2003 |
"Jesus' Message to us, His brethren, is a Sober One-- "As the Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you: continue ye in My Love" (John 15:9). To "abide" in God's Love is to "continue"-- to subsist in Him -- in God's Family. "Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. IF that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father" (1John 2:24). If you claim to be a member of God's Family, you must demonstrate your obedience, by love, to your Heavenly Father. "2 By this we KNOW that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His Commandments. 3 For THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS... 4 He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth NOT His Commandments, is a LIAR, and the Truth is NOT in him. 5 But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the Love of God perfected: hereby KNOW we that we are in Him. 6 He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked" (1John 5:2-6)." |

"ALL of GRACE" |
Charles H. Spurgeon |
(1834-1892) |
"Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound" (Romans 5:20). "I HEARD A STORY; I think it came from the North Country: A minister called upon a poor woman, intending to give her help; for he knew that she was very poor. With his money in his hand, he knocked at the door; but she did not answer. He concluded she was not at home, and went his way. A little after he met her at the church, and told her that he had remembered her need: 'I called at your house, and knocked several times, and I suppose you were not at home, for I had no answer.' 'At what hour did you call, sir?' 'It was about noon.' 'Oh, dear,' she said, 'I heard you, sir, and I am so sorry I did not answer; but I thought it was the man calling for the rent.' Many a poor woman knows what this meant. Now, it is my desire to be heard, and therefore I want to say that I am not calling for the rent; indeed, it is not the object of this book to ask anything of you, but to tell you that salvation is all of grace, which means, free, gratis, for nothing." |

"Humanly speaking, we affirm something is true, or is not true, saying that this or that may happen, or may not happen. 'Do I [the Apostle Paul] purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay [yes, yes, and no, no]?' (2Corinthians 1:17). But Spiritually speaking, that is, applying the Principles and Promises of God's Word to any given situation led of the Spirit to address, we must adamantly affirm, 'Yes! Only God states Absolute Truth. This WILL happen!' 'As God is True, our Word toward you was not yea and nay' (1:18). Why? Because Jesus,Who is our 'Yea' and our 'Amen', secures ONLY 'Yea [Yes]' and 'Amen [Verily, Truly]' answers to our faith. '19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Who was preached among you by us, even by me [Paul] and Silvanus and Timotheus, was NOT yea and nay [yes and no], but in Him was YEA. 20 For ALL the Promises of God in Him are Yea [Yes], and in Him Amen [Verily, Truly], unto the Glory of God by us' (1:19-20). It is this very fact that allows the LORD the liberty to offer freely His Blank Check Promises-- with strings attached, most certainly-- but none the less LIMITLESS."

Alvin York: In the Lion's Den - story |
Judith Bronte |
|
On October 8, 1918, the day that made Corporal Alvin York famous, he captured 132 German prisoners, and became a national hero. The German Major of the prisoners had providentially lived in Chicago for a time, and spoke English well. Thus, Alvin was able to give demands that normally would have required a translator. Upon hearing Corporal York giving orders to his men, (there were only seven), the German Major asked, "'How many have you got?" and I said, "I have got a-plenty," and pointed my pistol at him all the time." |

Ambassador In Chains - prophecy |
Bryan Hupperts @ Sheep Trax ---- New Window |
|
In my dream today I went to Heaven again and one of the Splendid Ones spoke with me about you. He showed me the great Russian bear - not at all dead as you have supposed - hibernating, rejuvenating, readying to attack you. Her sharp paws were unsheathed ready to slice and maul you into submission. |

"An Approving Heart-Confidence
In Prayer" |
Charles G. Finney |
(1792-1875) |
"When a man prays disinterestedly, and with a heart in full and deep sympathy with God, he may and should have confidence that God hears him. When he can say in all honesty before the Lord, Now, Lord, thou knowest that through the grace of thy Spirit my soul is set on doing good to men for thy glory; I am grieved for the dishonour done to thee, so that "rivers of water run down my eyes, because men keep not thy law," then he cannot but know that his prayers are acceptable to God.Indeed no one, having right views of God's character, can come to him in prayer in a disinterested state of mind, and feel otherwise than that God accepts such a state of mind. Now since our heart cannot condemn us when we are in a disinterested state of mind, but must condemn any other state, it follows that if our heart does not condemn us, we shall have, and cannot but have, confidence that God hears our prayers and accepts our state as pleasing in his sight." |

"An Autobiography" |
Charles G. Finney |
1908 |
"I had taken no thought with regard to a text upon which to preach; but waited to see the congregation. As soon as I had done praying, I arose from my knees and said: "Up, get you out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city." I told them I did not recollect where that text was; but I told them very nearly where they would find it, and then went on to explain it. I told them that there was such a man as Abraham, and who he was; and that there was such a man as Lot, and who he was; their relations to each other; their separating from each other on account of differences between their herdmen; and that Abraham took the hill country, and Lot settled in the vale of Sodom. I then told them how exceedingly wicked Sodom became, and what abominable practices they fell into... When I went down the second time, I got an explanation of the anger manifested by the congregation during the introduction of my sermon the day before. I learned that the place was called Sodom, but I knew it not; and that there was but one pious man in the place, and him they called Lot. This was the old man that invited me there. The people supposed that I had chosen my subject, and preached to them in that manner, because they were so wicked as to be called Sodom. This was a striking coincidence; but so far as I was concerned, it was altogether accidental." --an excerpt from Chapter 8 |

An Earnest Appeal to
Roman Catholics |
Tom Stewart |
2-22-99 |
If all would agree that Salvation comes only by the
grace of God through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ upon the cross of
Calvary-- "8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians
2:8-9)-- then adherence to or rejection of the Church of Rome would simply be a test
of Christian nobility, i.e., searching the Scriptures for proof to go out or stay
in. "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received
the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those
things were so" (Acts 17:11). Further, if anyone resorts to the investigation of Scripture, then a cardinal rule must be observed. You must be willing to obey the Scriptures. Jesus said, "If any man will do His [the Father's] will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of Myself" (John 7:17). This cannot be an unreasonable rule, for Jesus Christ identifies Himself as the very Word that "was made flesh" (John 1:14), that we must obey. "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the Word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in Truth, the Word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe" (1Thessalonians 2:13). I propose to demonstrate from Scripture that Roman Catholicism is not a Christian religion, and that the Church of Rome is not a Christian Church. And, if so, then it would only be reasonable for all those who truly name the "Name of Christ" (2Timothy 2:19) to separate themselves from this "MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH" (Revelation 17:5). Thus, the warning of the Revelation would fall upon your ears to come out of Babylon the Great. "Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues" (18:4). |

An Inscription In A Presentation Bible For A New Christian Brother -encouragement |
Tom Stewart |
1991 |
"To Our Brother By Faith In Jesus Christ, We rejoice that you have 'come unto the knowledge of the Truth' (1Timothy 2:4) by turning to Jesus, the 'Way, the Truth, and the Life' (John 14:6). The faithfulness of God, Who promised: 'Ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart' (Jeremiah 29:13) has also promised you the strength of His Omnipotence: 'For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole Earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him' (2Chronicles 16:9)." |

An Urgent Word - prophecy |

What has happened to the body you seek comfort in material possessions my people come out of Babylon she wobbles in a drunken stupor. Seek me, seek not revival, I will uplift and help those who humble themselves with a broken and contrite heart. How many different ways do I have to show you USA my fury is about to poured out in full measure, few shall be spared. My patience grows thin, listen to me, repent. Only those who I have deemed worthy and humble enough shall be spared. I tire of constantly warning the USA through my prophets, teachers and preachers of the word. |

George Mueller |
(1805-1898) |
“Another class of persons were brethren in business, who suffered in their souls, and brought guilt on their consciences, by carrying on their business, almost in the same way as unconverted persons do. The competition in trade, the bad times, the overpeopled country, were given as reasons why, if the business were carried on simply according to the Word of God, it could not be expected to do well. Such a brother, perhaps, would express the wish, that he might be differently situated; but very rarely did I see that there was a stand made for God, that there was the holy determination to trust in the living God, and to depend on Him, in order that a good conscience might be maintained. To this class likewise I desired to show, by a visible proof, that God is unchangeably the same." |

Antichrist Shall
Come |
Tom Stewart |
8-2-99 |
How can one impostor-- the Antichrist-- so completely deceive the world?... A fourth of mankind will die under the Fourth Seal Judgment (Revelation 6:7-8) directly or indirectly because of the slaughter caused by the Antichrist. Christians will be martyred under the Fifth Seal Judgment (6:9-11) due to the persecution of Antichrist. Multitudes more of the Tribulation Saints will be martyred shortly thereafter, when they refuse the Mark of the Beast at the Middle of the Tribulation Week. "7 And it was given unto him [Antichrist] to make war with the Saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the Earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (13:7-8)... The Fountain of Living Waters (Jeremiah 2:13) or Broken Cisterns (2:13). Christ or Antichrist. Sound Doctrine or the Lie. The choice seems so stark by comparison, but the practicality is that the vast majority will not see the difference. |

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour." |

"What does God have to do to get our attention? This brings us to the events of December 26th 2004, where an undersea earthquake with a magnitude of 9.0 occurred in the Indian Ocean off the western coast of northern Sumatra and Indonesia, thus generating a series of tsunamis, whose massive, 50 foot (15 meter) high waves devastated Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, and other coastal nations over the next seven hours, killing more than 150,000-- with a greater death toll feared for those missing never to be found and those who would become casualties of disease and starvation."

Auditions - prophecy |

7-17-97 |
Not quite praying, I threw out to the Lord, "Looks like this play of yours is about over, huh? You'll soon return like you promised." The words were not off my lips when He responded with, "Child, this life is not my play. I have only been holding auditions for eternal life. Then the REAL drama begins." "The eye has not seen, not the ear heard, nor has it ever entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those that love Him".64 |
