This small space of time will allow for additional people to be brought into the Body to respond to the LORD's Pre-Tribulational Rapture Call-- "Come Up Hither" (Revelation 4:1); but, more strangely-- I speak as a man-- it will probably sift and reduce the number who will still be ready. Thus, the Pre-Tribulational Rapture will take only the "finest of the wheat" (Psalm 147:14). "Whose fan is in His hand, and He will throughly purge His floor, and gather His wheat into the Garner; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire" (Matthew 3:12). |

What About The Hypocrites? -study |
A WStS Reader |
4-21-99 |
One of our readers reminded us of a common complaint
the world has about the Church. After a recent encounter with another person asking the question, "What about all of the hypocritical Christians?", our reader gathered some information from our site and composited it into this comprehensive answer. He then submitted it to us, hoping it would help someone else. We thank him. |

What Are They Doing
Now in Heaven? |
Tom Stewart |
04-28-05 |
You will have the ability to sin in Heaven, but you won't sin. And, why not? Does the Almighty give us a Moral Lobotomy to take away our capacity of committing the sin that has been so easy here on Earth? No, Scripture tells us that our Moral Agency must remain intact in Heaven, or we, if we became Nonmoral Automatons or Robots, could not enjoy the beautiful holiness of Heaven, much less render to the Creator loving worship. Imagine, if the Devil could so entice the Saints on Earth to dwell in sin, how he would hope to discourage the Saints in Heaven and the Holy Angels, who are watching. He would be hoping against hope to re-ignite the flames of rebellion in Heaven to dethrone the Eternal One. Little does he understand or believe the wisdom and superiority of God's sovereign program in giving us moral likeness to the Living God. And, if God ordained Heaven's Moral Occupation to be only to Learn of Christ, then that alone would be enough for Heaven to have Full Employment! "Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls" (Matthew 11:29). |

What is Man? -study |
Tom Stewart |
8-8-2001 |
"Any attempt to truly understand the nature of man, without the Scriptures, is to foolishly neglect the perspective of man's Creator. 'What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou visitest him?' (Psalm 8:4). Of course, the very concept of a Creator demands an acceptance of the existence of a God that creates and intervenes in the affairs of man, while the rejection of God's existence can only be viewed as foolishness. 'The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God' (53:1)... Only the godly can truly grasp the meaning of his own existence, for we have been blessed with the opportunity to fulfill the dominion God intended over the works of His hands... In a moment of testing, we may wonder why an All Wise God would create a man, so full of troubles, i.e., 'Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward' (Job 5:7); but, it would be great disservice to the Almighty to not immediately remember that He is the 'Faithful Creator' (1Peter 4:19), that lovingly guardeth our footsteps, that our 'feet did not slip' (Psalm 18:36). We so soon forget the Record of what God hath wrought for us. 'Remember now thy Creator' (Ecclesiastes 12:1)." |

What is the Difference Between Christian Education and Public School Education? (1982) -study |
Tom Stewart |
1982 |
"The word 'educate' means to bring up, nurture, or train. When
referring to Christian education, the word 'educate' means: 'Ye fathers, provoke
not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the
LORD' (Ephesians 6:4), as well as, 'Train up a child in the way he should go: and
when he is old, he will not depart from it' (Proverbs 22:6). The difference between Christian Education and Public School Education can be described in three areas, in their: (1) Purpose of Education, (2) Content of Education, and (3) Control of Education." |

What is the Prayer of Faith? -study |
Katie Stewart |
3-12-2000 |
"And the Prayer of Faith shall save the sick,
and the LORD shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven
him" (James 5:15). "Not every prayer from the lips of a sincere Christian gets an affirmative nod from Above. Many times prayer does not yield the desired results we yearn for. 'Hope deferred maketh the heart sick' (Proverbs 13:12). Hope precedes all prayer, but only when the answer comes do we recognize the difference that Faith makes in praying. 'But when the desire cometh, it is a Tree of Life' (13:12). Picture lightning. When God's will makes contact with our hope, Faith is established and grace races down the lightning rod of experience. Faith is the way you use God's grace. It's our part to exercise the Faith God authors, but its God's part to finish it." |

"Godliness with contentment is great gain"
(1Timothy 6:6). "Godliness and contentment are indeed rare gems, but since they can only be found inseparably combined, they are the rarest of gem to be found in man. 'Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in Faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which He hath promised to them that love Him?' (James 2:5). Unlike the covetous of the world, Christians are to be content with their lot in life-- rich or poor, pleasant ways or a difficult road-- since they understand their physical circumstances to be both God's opportunity to mold them and reach the world. 'To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some' (1Corinthians 9:22)." |

"Owe no man any thing" (Romans 13:8). "There may be such a thing as contracting a prospective debt, giving your obligation to become due at a certain time. But then you do not properly owe, because you are under no obligation to pay till it becomes due. But whenever it becomes due you are bound immediately to pay it... It is unjust to be in debt. If your creditor has a right to demand payment, you certainly have no right to withhold it. If it is due it is a contradiction to say that it is not unjust for you not to pay. It is a contradiction, both in terms, and in fact, to say that you owe a man, and at the same time are guilty of no injustice in refusing or neglecting to pay him. It is as much injustice as stealing, and involves the same principle. The sin of stealing consists in the appropriating to ourselves that which properly belongs to another. Therefore whenever you withhold from any man his due, you are guilty of as absolute an injustice, as if you stole his property." |

"They are no more twain, but one flesh. What
therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder" (Matthew 19:6). "Many Christians mistakenly think that fornication has been sanctioned as God's grounds for divorce. Not so. There are no Godly grounds for divorce. Laodiceans loudly proclaim, 'God does endorse divorce 'for the cause of fornication' (Matthew 5:32)'... let's study the passage IN CONTEXT... God puts families together-- it is ONLY man who tears them apart. 'For God is not the Author of confusion, but of Peace' (1Corinthians 14:33)... But peace and contentment only come to those who obey God. 'There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked' (Isaiah 57:21). You cannot cut corners with the LORD and think that your family will enjoy each other's company and share a happy life together, without ordering your steps aright and letting God have control of every aspect. 'Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it' (Psalm 127:1)." |

"But there were False Prophets also among the
people, even as there shall be False Teachers among you, who privily shall bring
in damnable heresies, even denying the LORD that bought them, and bring upon themselves
swift destruction" (2Peter
2:1). "It is not for simply personal reasons that we must be able to identify, mark, and avoid False Teachers, but that we would obediently and 'earnestly contend for the Faith which was once delivered unto the Saints' (Jude 3). If the Gospel is to spread and take hold of mankind in all of its Power and Purity, then we must strive or contend valiantly 'for the Truth' (Jeremiah 9:3) as it 'is in Jesus' (Ephesians 4:21) against all that would hinder or destroy the Gospel and the Faith that all men should have toward the LORD, Who gave us the Good News of Redemption, Forgiveness of Sins, New Birth, Power Over Sin and Sinning, and Present Certainty of Eternal Life." |

"Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss
for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my LORD: for Whom I have suffered
the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ" (Philippians
3:8). "Though luck may have the connotation of prosperity or success in the world's vocabulary, it involves the element of chance; and, uncertainty is not part of the success guaranteed by the LORD. Instead, the Saints can find in the Scriptures, Promise after definite Promise to make certain their prosperity and success. 'This Book of the Law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success' (Joshua 1:8)... Since the Law of Christ (Galatians 6:2) mandates a supreme love for God and a love for our neighbour that is equal to the consideration that we ought to give to ourselves, then gambling violates the Law of Love because it only allows or enables the gain of one party at the expense of another. 'We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil' (Proverbs 1:13). And, 'for the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows' (1Timothy 6:10)." |

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple
of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's" (1Corinthians 6:19-20). "To those who are morally able to choose, a True Christian will not commit suicide, because suicide is the sin of self-murder. 'If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are' (1Corinthians 3:17). Jesus is presently in Heaven preparing a 'place for you' (John 14:2). And, if Heaven is to be your future Home, then you must 'continue in the Grace of God' (Acts 13:43) and 'hope to the end for the Grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ' (1Peter 1:13). For, if we do not avail ourselves of God's 'Grace to help in time of need' (Hebrews 4:16), then we will most assuredly not 'follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the LORD' (12:14). Look at it from God's point of view. He has already made ample provision for every conceivable circumstance of your spiritual and physical life. 'His Divine Power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and Godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue' (2Peter 1:3). To ultimately run out of hope and commit suicide is unpardonable, because it is supreme defiance and 'blasphemy against the Holy Ghost' (Matthew 12:31), and 'hath never forgiveness' (Mark 3:29). The sin of suicide will never take you to the Heaven where Jesus is. 'Then said Jesus again unto them, I go My way, and ye shall seek Me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come' (John 8:21)." |

"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us
from evil" (Matthew 6:13). "This is a study about understanding temptation, not simply because the Master enjoined, 'Pray that ye enter not into temptation' (Luke 22:40), but because we also desire to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in doing all that is humanly possible to prevent temptation from turning into sin. '10 With my whole heart have I sought Thee: O let me not wander from Thy Commandments... 133 Order my steps in Thy Word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me' (Psalm 119:10, 133). From the first temptation of Eve in the Garden when the Serpent succeeded in causing our First Parents to doubt the love of God, to the final 'Hour of Temptation' (Revelation 3:10) of the Apocalypse, mankind has struggled, and will struggle, with the necessity to overcome temptation. Our present unwillingness to enter into temptation is the same unwillingness to enter into the 'Hour of Temptation' (3:10) soon prophesied to come upon this world. 'Because thou hast kept the Word of My Patience, I also will keep thee from the Hour of Temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the Earth' (3:10). But, since 'all the Promises of God in [Christ] are Yea, and in Him Amen' (2Corinthians 1:20), we can lay hold of the Master's instruction to 'pray that ye enter not into temptation' (Luke 22:40), with the bold assurance that, indeed, 'sin shall not have dominion over [us]' (Romans 6:14)!" |

understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the LORD" (Jeremiah 9:24). "Man knows much more than he commonly admits. ABC. 1-2-3. God is. He ought to be loved supremely. We ought to love our neighbour as ourselves... Acknowledging that we know what God says we know, "as the Truth is in Jesus" (Ephesians 4:21), is the "beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10). Laying hold of the Truth will only be the beginning of an Eternity of learning about God." |

What the Bible
Says About |
Tom Stewart |
2-20-2004 |
"Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the
Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to Death in the flesh,
but quickened by the Spirit" (1Peter 3:18). "The Natural Love that we have for ourselves is a Universal Truth, for 'no man ever yet hated his own flesh' (Ephesians 5:29); and, Jesus the Son of Man was no different. 'For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin' (Hebrews 4:15). He had no special enjoyment of suffering, just as we do not enjoy suffering. 'Wherefore in all things it behoved Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a Merciful and Faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make Reconciliation for the sins of the people' (Hebrews 2:17). It is difficult for the Righteous to watch the Guiltless and Innocent suffer, because their suffering is our suffering. 'Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body' (Hebrews 13:3). Further, we have been advised by the Scriptures to remain 'simple' concerning the specifics of the sufferings that evil men inflict. 'For your Obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple [Greek, akeraion, harmless] concerning evil' (Romans 16:19). It was only the Providence of God that allowed the human mother of Jesus to be at the scene of Christ's Crucifixion, and one can only imagine the impression upon Mary as she beheld the Agony of her Son upon the Cross! Perhaps it was at that moment that Mary recalled the prophetic words of Simeon from the dedication of Jesus. '34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary His mother, Behold, this Child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a Sign which shall be spoken against; 35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed' (Luke 2:34-35). For those we love, suffering and even death for ourselves would be more desirable than to watch them suffer. But, Jesus willingly set His face like flint to suffer the Cruel Death of the Cross for friend and foe alike, e.g., the Roman centurion in charge of His Crucifixion exclaimed about the events and manner of Christ's Death on the Cross, 'Truly this was the Son of God' (Matthew 27:54)." |

What the Blind Man
Saw |
Tom Stewart |
10-16-2000 |
"And I will bring the blind by a way that they
knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness
light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them,
and not forsake them" (Isaiah 42:16). "True Saints need not fret that they do not understand all of the prophecies, for though they only 'know in part' (1Corinthians 13:9, 12), God will make their blindness as Light before them. 'And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness Light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them' (Isaiah 42:16). Understanding that Christ the Judge is returning soon to clean up the mess that man's sin has created-- in the world and in the Church-- is the key to understanding the prophecies. 'Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the Earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen' (Revelation 1:7). God looks at the fulness of our hearts, not the emptiness of our heads. 'For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not' (2Corinthians 8:12). Though we are not to glory in our ignorance, we ought to use our ignorance as a platform to launch our request for understanding of 'things which must shortly come to pass' (Revelation 1:1)." |

"Who is Babylon the Great? The evidence of Scripture and the support of history indicate that Ancient Babylon has continued her whorish tradition through Roman Catholicism, inundating and polluting America, but still awaiting a final vehicle to forcibly include all people and all religious traditions in the ultimate worship of the Antichrist. "[Antichrist] opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God" (2Thessalonians 2:4). Though the Roman Pontiff has adopted the wait-and-see Gamaliel approach to the chartering of the United Religions Initiative (URI), if the Almighty soon chooses to remove His watching and waiting Saints by Pre-Tribulational Rapture, then the events of the ensuing Tribulation Week will take away the necessity of a voluntary, interfaith URI."

WHY CALL HIM JEHOVAH JESUS? |
Katie Stewart |
10-29-99 |
Jesus Christ, The Word of God, prophesied of Himself in Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and HIS NAME SHALL BE CALLED Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace". Knowing that the "Child" is infallibly called "The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father", you must either except by faith the Truth of His Own Word, or deny that The Son can be "EQUAL" with The Father, thus calling Him a liar. Christians walk by faith. If He said it-- believe it. Don't question "how?". He's God-- Immutable, Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent. "Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? he that hath seen Me HATH SEEN the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?... he that seeth Me seeth Him that sent Me" (John 14:9; John 12:45). |

confluence, where the Yamuna River, the River Ganges, and the mythical Saraswati
River of Hindu legend meet, on the outskirts of the northern city of Allahabad, India,
to wash away their sins at the every twelve year Hindu festival of Maha Kumbh Mela
(Great Pitcher Festival). The Hindu faithful declare that this event is "undisputedly
the world's largest religious and cultural congregation..." The Pacific Northwest of the United States experienced a 6.8 magnitude quake 35 miles southwest of Seattle, Washington on February 28th 2001... Microsoft founder Bill Gates was interrupted as he was delivering a speech at a Seattle hotel-- as seen on television news. Pioneer Square, in one of Seattle's oldest neighborhoods, sustained damage to its brick buildings, after hosting Mardi Gras celebrations-- only hours earlier-- that turned into violent riots. Mardi Gras or "Fat Tuesday" is described by some Catholics as the "last gasp of decadence before a period of austerity"-- that austerity being the 40 ensuing days of Catholic fasting and penitence preceding Easter... Islamic pilgrims were crushed to death by the press of the crowd during the ritual "Stoning of Satan"-- each pilgrim casting seven pebbles at three pillars representing Satan... two million Muslims from 70 countries annually make the journey, which they are required to perform once in their lifetime, if they are physically and financially able. Considered by faithful Muslims to be a pilgrimage of faith... has recently seen a similar tragedy in 1998, where at least 118 pilgrims died on the third day of the stoning ritual... Why should Western Professed Christianity perceive of Islam and Hindu as solely heathen religions, when the humanistic, pagan Western Civilization also sets its face like flint against the religion of Jesus Christ? "2 The kings of the Earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His Anointed, saying, 3 Let us break Their bands asunder, and cast away Their cords from us... 7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto Me, Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten Thee. 8 Ask of Me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the Earth for Thy possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. 10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the Earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him" (Psalm 2:2-12)." |

Introduction by John R. Rice D. L. Moody died in the last days of the 19th century. Dr. R. A. Torrey was probably his closest associate and friend. Dr. Torrey was the first superintendent of the Moody Bible Institute and set up a curriculum for that Bible Institute which has been a pattern for others like it. When Moody died, Torrey soon took worldwide lead in great citywide campaigns in Australia, England and America. In 1923 Dr. Torrey was asked to speak at a great memorial service on "Why God Used D. "Without Jesus, as my very "Life", no amassed regretting, no mustered repenting, no aggregate of tears-- NOTHING I could ever do-- could EVER change the wage I had earned for the sin I had committed against God's Holy Law. "Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Thy sight: that Thou mightest be Justified when Thou speakest, and be Clear when Thou judgest" (Luke 20:21). My wage was rightfully-- Death. "The soul that sinneth, it shall die" (Ezekiel 18:20). A Death which would forever separate me from the Creator of my soul. "Commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a Faithful Creator" (1Peter 4:19)... Without Jesus Christ, we will pay our own sin debt, "for the wages of sin is Death" (Romans 6:23). With the Atoning Work of the Cross that the LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ suffered, our debt of Death has been paid in full. He did that for us! As "The Gift of God" (6:23), the Father has given Jesus Christ, His Son, to us. He is our "Eternal Life" (6:23). And, dear reader, if you receive Him, this "Life" begins in you NOW. You will live victoriously-- without sin-- ONLY if you live "through Jesus Christ" (6:23). "In this was manifested the Love of God toward us, because that God sent His Only Begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him" (1John 4:9)."

"And the name of the star is called Wormwood:
and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters,
because they were made bitter" (Revelation 8:11). "The New Testament Greek word for "star" is aster, as in asteroid. Providentially, the not-too-distant occurrence of the 3rd Trumpet Judgment (Revelation 8:10-11) of the Tribulation Week, places Wormwood-- the Asteroid of Judgment-- in prophetic focus. Apsinthos, the Greek word for "Wormwood", means undrinkable. "Therefore thus saith the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink" (Jeremiah 9:15). The Apocalypse of the LORD Jesus Christ prophetically discloses what appears to be the Earth being struck by an asteroid, with the result that the "third part of the rivers" and the "fountains of waters" (Revelation 8:10) became "wormwood" (8:11). The aftermath will be that "many men [will die] of the waters", and specifically, "because they were made bitter" (8:11). Man's injustice or lack of Godly judgment will provoke the Almighty to perform this monumental deed "when the transgressors are come to the full" (Daniel 8:23); but, the "judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether" (Psalm 19:9)." |
