Doctrine is one of those words that often puts people on edge, as if they may be forced to mindlessly parrot things they do not understand, much less believe. However, "Good Doctrine" (Proverbs 4:2) is the teaching that God gives to us from His Word. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for Doctrine [Greek, didaskalia, teaching, learning, instruction, precepts], for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2Timothy 3:16).

Jesus is coming again! We have God's Word on it. Chapter 19 details the Heavenly Throne scene as the Second Coming of Christ unfolds. For the Saints, it is a time of joy, anticipation, and excitement, as they enter into the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Where will we spend the honeymoon? Earth, of course, but first, our Heavenly Husband must make a clean sweep of Planet Earth through a masterful, military campaign with its climax at the Battle of Armageddon. If Wisdom shows a way to reach the Lost in the present, do so, for prophetic events are transpiring so quickly that if left unconverted, that Lost One may well be numbered among the slain described in the scene following the Second Coming of Christ. "The LORD of Hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand" (Isaiah 14:24).

Pollyanna is a book by Eleanor Porter, a movie by Walt Disney, and a label for those whose optimism overreaches the boundaries of the reality seen by others. You can see why 100-year-old Abraham-- with 90-year-old Sarah-- could have been labelled a Pollyanna for believing God's promise of a son, as well as becoming the Father of a Great Nation. "20 He staggered not at the Promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in Faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform" (Romans 4:20-21). Dare we be called a Pollyanna for our rejoicing optimism in the Promises of God?

You will have the ability to sin in Heaven, but you won't sin. And, why not? Does the Almighty give us a Moral Lobotomy to take away our capacity of committing the sin that has been so easy here on Earth? No, Scripture tells us that our Moral Agency must remain intact in Heaven, or we, if we became Nonmoral Automatons or Robots, could not enjoy the beautiful holiness of Heaven, much less render to the Creator loving worship. Imagine, if the Devil could so entice the Saints on Earth to dwell in sin, how he would hope to discourage the Saints in Heaven and the Holy Angels, who are watching. He would be hoping against hope to re-ignite the flames of rebellion in Heaven to dethrone the Eternal One. Little does he understand or believe the wisdom and superiority of God's sovereign program in giving us moral likeness to the Living God. And, if God ordained Heaven's Moral Occupation to be only to Learn of Christ, then that alone would be enough for Heaven to have Full Employment! "Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls" (Matthew 11:29).
