The Crucifixion of Christ: Jews or Gentiles-- Who Stinketh the Most?

The Christian Gospels plainly depict the Roman Pontius Pilate as the author of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, i.e., "when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified" (Matthew 27:26); but, only with the incitement of the Jewish Sanhedrin. "12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto Him Whom ye call the King of the Jews? 13 And they cried out again, Crucify Him. 14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath He done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify Him" (Mark 15:12-14). Whether to lay the blame solely at the feet of the Gentile Pontius Pilate or to place the guilt completely upon the Jewish mob, i.e., "Then answered all the people, and said, His Blood be on us, and on our children" (Matthew 27:25), it would only be a Hypocritical Comfort that any living man should wash his hands of his own personal responsibility in the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. "But God commendeth His Love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). It completely misses the whole point of the Suffering and Death of Jesus Christ on the Cross as an Atonement for the sins of the whole world, if the blame for His Death is pointed at someone other than yourself! "And He is the Propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world" (1John 2:2). The whole necessity of an Atonement for our sins was to find a way to bring Sinful Man to a Holy God! "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit" (1Peter 3:18). Only when we repent and believe the Truth of the Gospel that our sins have separated us from God, i.e., "your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear" (Isaiah 59:2), but Jesus "made Peace through the Blood of His Cross, by Him to Reconcile all things unto Himself" (Colossians 1:20), when we trust Christ to save us. "Believe on the LORD Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be Saved" (Acts 16:31).

The Unconverted Gentile World blames the Unconverted Jewish World for the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, while the Unconverted Jewish World blames the Unconverted Gentile World, absolving itself of culpability in the Death of Jesus of Nazareth-- instead choosing to remember the hand of the cruel and weak Gentile Pontius Pilate.
"And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged Him, to be Crucified" (Mark 15:15). Both ignore the glaring fact that they are equally culpable in Christ's Death. "Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things" (Romans 2:1). Gentiles, which have not the Law of Moses, "do by nature the things contained in the Law, these, having not the Law, are a law unto themselves" (Romans 2:14). These same Gentiles that "have sinned without Law shall also perish without Law" (Romans 2:12). But, O Jew, you who "have sinned in the Law shall be judged by the Law" (Romans 2:12). For it is a certainty attested to by God that "ALL have sinned" (Romans 3:23; 5:12). All would do well to turn in Faith to the Saviour and obey His Gospel. "Repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance" (Acts 26:20). If you cannot and do not admit your personal guilt in the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, then you cannot and do not have any part in the Salvation Christ "purchased with His own Blood" (Acts 20:28) by His Cross. "In Whom we have Redemption through His Blood, the Forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His Grace" (Ephesians 1:7). Otherwise, we are no different than Pontius Pilate when he vainly attempted to cleanse himself of all responsibility in the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. "When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the Blood of this Just Person: see ye to it" (Matthew 27:24).

Or, Pray for the Conversion of Israel
"Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for Salvation is of the Jews" (John 4:22).
We, the Church, are bondservants of the LORD Jesus Christ, "Who gave Himself a ransom for all" (1Timothy 2:6), and we owe the Gospel to all men-- "to the Jew first, and also to the Greek" (Romans 1:16). But, especially do we owe the Gospel to Israel, for they transmitted to us Jehovah's "Covenants of Promise" (Ephesians 2:12)-- "unto them were committed the Oracles of God [the Scriptures]" (Romans 3:2)-- that pointed us to Jesus Christ. Israel will soon be converted to Jesus the Messiah, Who is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Psalm 122:6). Pray that the LORD will fulfill His Word that Israel will again know Him, i.e., "thou shalt know that I am the LORD" (Isaiah 49:23).
