One of the most valuable possessions you can acquire
is Wisdom.
The Book of Proverbs Chapter 3 tells us:
13 Happy
is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 For
the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof
than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies:
and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 Length of days is in her right
hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths
are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to them
that lay hold of her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
This astounding statement from God should leave us in no doubt as to how much we
should desire and seek after Wisdom.
I believe it is no coincidence that there are 31 chapters in the
Book of
which is the same number as the number of
days in most of our months.
- One of the fastest ways to grow in the Wisdom
of God is to determine each day to read the Chapter of Proverbs which equates to
that day of the month- for example on the fifteenth of the month read Chapter 15.
- Approach this exercise as if you are going
to the gym to train to be victorious in a sport. This sport however is the Game of
Life and The Book of Proverbs, God's main Repository of Wisdom in the Bible, is the
key to your success.
- Read again some of the wonderful rewards promised
to the wise in Proverbs 3:13-18. To help you in your quest for Wisdom. [Stephen Johnston]
