Prov. 3:3-4 "Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man."

Rom. 14:18 "For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men."


Favour-- as the LORD gave to Joseph

• Gen. 39:2,21 "And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian... But the LORD was with Joseph, and showed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison."

• Acts 7:9-10 "And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house."

Favour-- as the LORD gave to Joseph's brothers

• Gen. 43:14 "And God Almighty give you mercy before the man [Joseph], that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin."

Favour-- as the LORD gave to Moses

• Deut. 34:10-12 "10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, 11 In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, 12 And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses showed in the sight of all Israel."

• Ex. 33:11 "And the LORD spake unto Moses Face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend."

• Num. 12:8 "With him will I speak Mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the Similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?"

Favour-- as the LORD gave to His children, the Israelites

• Ex. 11:3 "And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people."

• Deut. 5:4 "The LORD talked with you Face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire."

• Deut. 7:7-8 "The LORD did not set His Love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because the LORD loved you, and because He would keep the oath which He had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt."

• Ex. 3:21 "And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty."

• Ex. 12:36 "And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians."

• Ex. 15:13 "Thou in Thy mercy hast led forth the people which Thou hast redeemed: Thou hast guided them in Thy strength unto Thy holy habitation."

• Ps. 44:3 "For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but Thy right hand, and Thine arm, and the Light of Thy Countenance, because Thou hadst a favour unto them."

• Deut. 4:37 "And because He loved thy fathers, therefore He chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in His sight with His mighty power out of Egypt."

Favour-- as the LORD gave from the enemy

• Ps. 106:46 "He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives."

• 1 Kin. 8:50 "And forgive Thy people that have sinned against Thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against Thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them."

• 2 Chr. 30:9 "For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away His face from you, if ye return unto Him."

• Josh. 24:12 "And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow."

• Ezra 9:9 "For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem."

• Neh. 1:11 "O LORD, I beseech Thee, let now Thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of Thy servants, who desire to fear Thy Name: and prosper, I pray Thee, Thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer."

Favour-- as the LORD gave to Naphtali

• Deut. 33:23 "And of Naphtali he [Moses] said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south."

Favour-- as the LORD gave to Ruth from Boaz

• Ruth 2:13 "Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens."

Favour-- as the LORD gave to Samuel

• 1 Sam. 2:26 "And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men."

Favour-- as the LORD gave to His Son Jesus

• Luke 2:40 "And the Child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with Wisdom: and the grace of God was upon Him."

• Luke 2:52 "And Jesus increased in Wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man."

Favour-- as the LORD gave to King David

• 2 Sam. 15:25 "And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, He will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation:"

Favour-- as the LORD gives to His righteous people

• Ps. 5:12 "For Thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt Thou compass him as with a shield."

• Ps. 29:11 "The LORD will give strength unto His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace."

• Ps. 32:7 "Thou art my Hiding Place; Thou shalt preserve me from trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah."

NO Favour-- as the LORD gives to the wicked

• Josh. 11:20 "For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that He might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that He might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses."

• Deut. 31:17 "Then My anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?"

• Ps. 104:29 "Thou hidest Thy face, they are troubled: Thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust."

• Ps. 143:7 "Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not Thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit."

• Jer. 25:30 "Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter His voice from His Holy Habitation; He shall mightily roar upon His Habitation; He shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth."
